Trustmark Roofing and Building Limited are award winning roofers with over 30 years of experience in the roofing game, the company directors Robert Findley and Christopher Dodds have both worked for many years for the “big fish” in the roofing world and have seen how the bigger companies use bad practices such as scare tactics to justify their overcharging to pay extremely high commissions and high overheads.

This is where we like to think we are different. We offer quality roofing at fair prices, using skilled tradespeople. We cover a range of areas from our Gateshead base, with our primary service regions including Durham, Gateshead, Newcastle upon Tyne, Northumberland, South Shields, and Sunderland.

Important factors you should know when considering your choice of roofing contractor:

We all mainly buy from the same 3 suppliers in the north east and we use the same materials. Do not fall for the ‘we use better materials and they use cheap materials speech’.

Although the more stock you buy the cheaper your rate per item reduces (again the difference is only slight), the sales pitch of “they must be using cheap products to be doing it that cheap” is simply not true.

The bigger the company, the bigger the overheads which only results in your estimate being bigger too.

The cheapest is never the best, a one-man band will never compete with a proper company, don’t be offended by a company using and charging for e.g. scaffolding as they have a responsibility to keep their staff and customers safe at all times.

A company will also always have the correct insurance (which they should have no problem in giving the customer a copy of their insurance certificate before commencing work). A one-man band may not as the correct insurance is very expensive to have.

A company that can back up its guarantees is worth its weight in gold. Although a one-man band maybe cheaper and carry out a very good job, certain work should be guaranteed sometimes for up to 10 years (life expectancy on certain products is much higher), will they come back after 9.5 years and do the whole job again if needed?
